I hope you apologise to Rachel Wardell for ruining her moment. The fact that Rachel was raising awareness for the NSPCC makes it even worse.

Yes, I agree with Coastal, my mother died of cancer yet I still agree with him. The arts and media reflect life and not what you'd prefer to happen, despite what you think people in life still smoke, this is neither a good or bad thing...just life....get used to it!

Congratulations, Stuart, on this morning's protest and I'm so pleased you chose to demonstrate prior to Rachel's appearance, rather than attempting to interrupt it. Her motives are of course similar to your own. Tobacco should have been criminalised years ago and it's particularly unhelpful that one of the UK's most prominent politicians has gained enormous wealth from effectively dealing in death.
Having said that, I can understand how some stories could not convincingly be told on screen without the portrayal of smoking ('Atonement' for example)although film makers must accept that they have a responsibility not to glamourize it. Perhaps fake cigarettes would provide an acceptable compromise and I imagine that, if tobacco were outlawed, as I hope will eventually happen, this would be a possibility they would want to investigate.
Anyway, all the best in your continuing efforts. Like Brian Haw, you are an inspiration.
